Steps for enrolling in Summer Sessions

Step 1: Complete the application form here.

There is no application fee for Summer Sessions.

Step 2: Apply for financial aid - deadline is in June.

As an incoming UC Davis student, you may qualify for financial aid, but you must complete a separate application and submit all of the required information.

You will need to submit the previous year’s FAFSA. Please refer to the Summer Financial Aid page for information on how to apply.

Step 3: Choose your classes.

Summer Session courses compress ten weeks of instruction into six, so we strongly recommend that you take no more than 6-8 units per session. Summer courses will affect your UC Davis GPA, so it's important to set yourself up for success.

We offer hundreds of courses. Check out our courses page for information on how to search course offerings and register. Our course flyers will help you find information by college and major.

Step 3a:  Talk to an advisor.

We recommend that you talk to an advisor. Academic advisors are available to help you make decisions on the best summer courses for you. You can meet with advisors at transfer orientation, or e-mail your college:

College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences:

Advisors in CA&ES are available all summer. You can email and someone in the CA&ES Dean’s office will help you find your major advisor.

College of Engineering:

Advisors are available all summer. Contact

College of Biological Sciences:

Open all summer for appointments. You can email, or you schedule an appointment online.

College of Letters and Science:
