High school students: are you interested in trying out a UC experience before deciding where to apply for college? Summer Sessions at UC Davis offer a fantastic way to explore potential future majors, experience university life and learn about college classroom expectations.

Eligibility for enrollment

UC Davis Summer Sessions are open to high school students that have completed their junior year and are deemed capable of handling introductory-level university courses.

Steps for enrolling in Summer Sessions

Step 1: Complete the Summer Sessions verification form.

High school students that are under the age of 18 must complete a verification form and submit an electronic copy of it when applying for Summer Sessions.

You will need to fill out the verification form online. Print the completed form, sign it, scan it and submit it with the online application. Applications from high school students will not be approved without the completed verification form.

Step 2: Submit the scanned verification form with the online application form.

There is no application fee for Summer Sessions. No transcripts or letters of recommendation are required to apply.

Note: If you are unable to upload the verification form electronically with your application, please include your application confirmation number on the form and either:

  • Fax the completed form to the Office of the University Registrar at (530) 752-6906.
  • Scan and email the completed form to registrar@ucdavis.edu.
  • Mail the completed verification form to:
Office of the University Registrar
One Shields Avenue
3100 Dutton Hall
Davis, CA 95616

Once you submit your online application, you will receive an automated email with a confirmation number indicating that your application has been received.  In mid-April, all approved applicants will receive a separate activation email providing computing account, registration, and fee payment information.

Step 3: Choose your classes.

Summer Session courses compress ten weeks of instruction into six, so we strongly recommend that you take no more than 8 units per session.

We offer many introductory-level courses. Check out our courses page for information on how to search course offerings and register.

Step 4: Register for classes - opens April 30, 2018.

Use Schedule Builder to register for classes.

Participating in this educational program does not in itself provide preference in admission to the University of California. Students interested in applying to UC Davis should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 530-752-2971 for details about the admissions process.
