Create Online Courses

UC Davis Summer Sessions seeks faculty to design online courses. Online courses expand access to students who can’t participate in Summer Sessions in person. Faculty may propose changes to an existing course or a new course.

Although applications are currently closed, Summer Sessions anticipates funding in spring 2026 to support faculty with course development. Watch this web page for details on how to submit proposals.

Preference is given to proposals for online Summer Sessions courses that are:

  • required for majors in one or multiple colleges
  • GE or large-enrollment
  • needed for prerequisites or for transfer students
  • in high demand

The Summer Sessions team partners with faculty to facilitate the approval process via the Integrated Curriculum Management System. While this partnership is only available to those proposals selected for funding, the team is available to consult with faculty who want to develop their own course proposals. For questions regarding online course development, email Omega Lee, executive director of Summer Sessions.
