Alison Rader picked up the pink and green towel she had used as a mat, drew a deep breath and smiled. “I’ve been feeling kind of keyed up,” the rising senior said. “Yoga in the morning helps release some of that tension.”
Soon the statistics major was off to class in a fast-paced, six-week course in calculus, but not before Summer Sessions staff, who had organized the yoga class, invited her to the next day’s coffee and donut gathering for students before exams in the first summer session.
UC Davis undergraduates spoke and Summer Sessions listened. More than 2,000 students responded to questions about desired summer courses, their motivation for taking summer courses and preferences for online, in-person or hybrid courses. This was in response to a wish list survey sent earlier this year.
"We value students’ voices," said Omega Lee, Summer Sessions executive director. "That's why we created the wish list — to pinpoint the summer courses they need, helping them stay on track and get ahead."
The 2024 summer courses are viewable on the Summer Sessions website now. Registration, application information and financial aid details posted as of March 1.
